The sole drawback of zippers, despite their extreme practicality and usefulness—they are regarded as a true revolution in the apparel industry—is that they are prone to breaking quickly and are almost hard to repair.

If it’s a zipper on a pair of jeans, a recently bought jacket, or a bag, this is particularly annoying. It’s usually a good idea to have a quick fix handy in these situations.

Although a damaged or jammed zipper may be quite frustrating, there are a few ways to fix it; we list the best ones below.

1. A cursor that has detached from its chain

While you use a screwdriver to make the necessary incisions on the slider to allow the chain to pass through, hold the chain in place using pliers. The chain teeth should be able to pass through the aperture.

After inserting both pieces, softly push the slider to secure and unite all the pieces, then move it up and down.

2. Roto extracto

The metal handle that we grip to unzip the zipper may sometimes break or fall off due to wear and tear.

To install a thin piece of cloth in lieu of the handle, raise up the area where the handle is fastened with a screwdriver.

3. A jammed zipper

There are many reasons why a zipper might get stuck, but the most common solution is to sandwich some lip balm or Vaseline between the teeth of the zipper.

This ought should be sufficient to release a trapped hinge.

4. Lost or extracted teeth

Cutters, adhesive, and a cotton swab are required. Cut the cotton swab’s plastic tube into tiny pieces.

Grab a piece, cut open one end, and press it against the area where the tooth is gone.
