Store shelves are packed with expensive cleaning fluids that don’t always do what they promise — make something clean. That’s why we have to look for more sophisticated methods.

Descale home appliances

You can easily descale your washing machine or your dishwasher or just wash them with a couple of glasses of apple cider vinegar. Run the standard mode on an empty machine. 3-4 minutes later, add 2 glasses of apple cider vinegar.

Preventing car windows from freezing

Use apple cider vinegar in winter as a means to avoid freezing windows. Wash your car windows with a mixture of vinegar and water in a 3:1 ratio.

Prolong the life of fresh flowers

Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 liter of warm water, and put the flowers into it. This trick will help you keep your flowers looking fresh for a few more days.

Cleaning dry spots

Mix 1 tablespoon of dish soap, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and 2 glasses of warm water. This mixture will help you remove old dried stains, even with wine and coffee. You can also use this mixture in a dishwasher with a special detergent.

Removing drain blockages

A mixture of baking soda, vinegar, and water can help you get rid of even the worst drain blockages. Put half a glass of baking soda into the drain, then add a glass of vinegar and the same amount of boiled water. After 20 minutes, pour some tap water into the drain. This is a very good way of preventing drain blockages.

Effective against mold

Pure vinegar can help you get rid of mold. Spray the fluid onto the affected spots, and rub the surface with a rough sponge. Let the vinegar vaporize. This is safer and more effective than using chlorine bleach.

Effective against germs

A mixture of vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio will kill germs in the kitchen. Mix these ingredients, and pour the fluid into a spray bottle. You will get an eco-friendly antimicrobial mixture. You can easily and quickly wash your microwave and disinfect your cutting boards.

Clean your faucets and shower

You can clean your shower with a mixture of water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio. Put the showerhead into a pan with the mixture, and boil it for 5-7 minutes. Let the fluid cool down. You can clean your faucets with pure apple cider vinegar and a sponge.

Get rid of germs on children’s clothing

Killing germs while washing clothes is easy if you have a glass of apple cider vinegar. Add it to the washing machine without mixing it with the detergent. The clothes will be fresh and sterile. This trick has been in use for a very long time already.

Polish chrome

A paste made from baking soda and vinegar can help you polish chrome items. However, you can’t use this mixture for shale, granite, or marble surfaces.

Get rid of weeds

25% apple cider vinegar will help you get rid of weeds. Spray the vinegar over the spots you want to clean. Repeat this until all the weeds are removed.

Get rid of sediment in your fish tank

A weak solution of apple cider vinegar and water will remove saline and mortar deposits. Wash the walls of the water tank with it as often as possible. Let the vinegar vaporize, and then wash the surface with tap water. You can also use this method to clean a drip coffee maker.

Keep your oven clean

A solution of water and vinegar can be used to clean the oven. This will prevent grease from staying on the surface of the oven while cooking. The same can be done with a microwave.
