Austrian billionaire Richard Lugner, a visionary entrepreneur and devoted family man, passed away at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of innovation, generosity, and love. His remarkable life was marked by significant achievements, including the establishment of Lugner City, one of Austria’s largest shopping centers, and the Vienna Islamic Centre, the country’s first and biggest mosque.

Lugner’s passion for bringing people together was evident in his efforts to attract international stars to Vienna’s famous Opera Ball. He also made headlines for his six marriages, the most recent being to 42-year-old Simone Reiländer, whom he wed just two months before his passing.

Throughout his life, Lugner demonstrated a commitment to his family, his business, and his community. His dedication to his loved ones was evident in his decision to entrust his wife with his business operations, saying, “My wife wears the pants now. She should support me actively.”
