With our lifestyle today, stress, and gadgets, your eyes are getting too tired, so what do you need to do to protect them? Well, you can improve your eyesight with 5 easy and natural ways below.

From the day we’re born, our eyesight already plays a huge part in our lives. Throughout our lives, it’s important to have good eyesight, and lucky you if you have perfect vision. But still, we shouldn’t take our eyes for granted.

Over time, our eye health deteriorates, depending on our lifestyle. If we protect our eyes as early as we can, we reduce the risk of eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and even blindness.

Even if you think you have healthy eyes, there’s nothing wrong with taking precautions, right?

1) Almond

We often love to eat almonds toasted or added to our favorite dishes, but did you know that it’s also a superfood?

Even if it’s called a nut, almonds are actually seeds, and like their other cousins, it’s also very good for eye health. It’s an amazing source of Omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin E, and antioxidants, which are all beneficial for our eye health.

If you consume these three regularly, it can help you prevent macular degeneration and even cataracts.

Here’s a tip!

Soak five to ten almonds overnight. Once you wake up, peel and grind them, then enjoy them! You can add them to your warm milk; add them to your oatmeal, or whichever way you want.

2) Green Tea

Do you enjoy a cup of tea every day? If so, then you’d love this next eye remedy. Did you know that Green tea can do wonders, not just for your body but also for your eyes?

We all know that green tea has so many benefits, one of which is called flavonoids. It helps our eyes to stay healthy and will prevent age-related diseases like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and even eye diseases like cataracts.

Did you also know that our eyes also get strained due to overexposure to sunlight? Now, green tea actually works as a natural sunscreen for our eyes – protecting them against harmful UV rays.

Here’s a tip!

One teaspoon of dry green tea leaves is enough to create a cup of tea. Prepare your tea with the ideal temperature of 185°F, let it sit for around three minutes, and enjoy!

3) Aloe Vera

While we’ve heard about Aloe Vera treating eye redness, swelling, and puffiness, did you know that Aloe Vera can also help with your eye health? It won’t just make you pretty, it can help your eyes to rejuvenate and heal.

We’re not talking about directly applying Aloe Vera to your eyes or as a beauty product.

Aloe Vera is packed with essential vitamins and antioxidants, which makes it one of the best remedies for your eyesight. Not only will it rejuvenate the membranes of your eyes, but it will also strengthen the eye’s cornea and even help treat cataracts.

Here’s a Tip!

Grow your own Aloe Vera so you can be sure that you can have the best and freshest ingredients for this recipe.

  • Cut and wash the leaves 10 days before you will do this simple recipe.
  • Choose medium to large leaves. Let’s leave the small ones to grow first.
  • Depending on how big and long your leaves are, you can start by cutting them into 7 – 8 inch pieces for easy preparation.
  • Then, proceed to cut the pointy part of the leaf, as well as the jagged spine.
  • Cut them into smaller portions, and then start removing the skin until you get the aloe inside.
  • Once you have the beautiful gel, put it in a blender until smooth.
  • Add 1 lb. of ground walnut, 300 ml of pure honey, and the juice of 4 freshly squeezed lemons to your aloe mix and blend again.
  • Take one spoon 3x a day, around 30 minutes before each meal.

It may seem like a lot of work, but the results will be well worth it!

4) Bilberry

Bilberries aren’t just delicious; they are also useful for our health.

Have you heard about the legend about the British Royal Air Force pilots who, after eating bilberry jam with their tea, were able to bomb their enemies during WWII with amazing accuracy?

While this story hasn’t been confirmed, the effectiveness of this dainty blueberry has been backed up by science. Aside from all the known benefits that it has to offer, Bilberry can also help treat cataracts, glaucoma, retina disorders, and even help you if you have nearsightedness.

What’s great is that it’s easy to find, and you can eat it any way you like it.

Here’s a tip!

You can also opt to choose Bilberry in supplement form. You only need around 80mg twice a day, just a few times a week.

5) Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba can help boost your memory, enhance your thinking process, and even treat anxiety. That’s why it’s often added to vitamins and supplements, but did you know that this plant has more to offer?

It increases blood flow to the eyes, which then improves one’s eyesight, prevents a person from developing macular degeneration, and even glaucoma.

It can also relieve dry eyes and can soothe tired and stressed eyes.

Here’s a tip!

Don’t stress yourself looking for the plant itself. You can find 120 mg capsules of this amazing plant in your local pharmacy.

Taking care of our eyes should be included in our priorities. Along with enough rest and a balanced diet, you are sure to have healthy eyes for a long time.
